5th Grade Pig Lung Dissection Classroom Labs

Pig Lung lab dates are confirmed.  May 15th will serve as a back up date. Please sign up to volunteer!

In addition to orientation, we ask volunteers to please read the lab guide and watch the training video to prepare for the lab. If you'd like to watch videos of the dissection to prepare, you may access them through google slides. You will need to start the slideshow then click on the links in the presentation in order to view the video clips.

On the day of the lab, volunteers need to arrive 15-30 minutes before their lab session starts to help with setup and prepare students. 

Volunteers will sign up for different roles:

• Table leaders are responsible for leading the dissection
• Table helpers are responsible for assisting students and keeping order during the dissection
• Assistants are responsible for: 1) looking after students who are indisposed or not able to participate and 2) helping anywhere else they are needed (with supplies, student help, etc)

Pig organ specimens will be donated by Wampler's Farm Sausage.
